Introduction:
Valvakkad is a small village situated in kasaragod district, about 3 kilometers from Trikaripur. A small village known for its natural beauty, coconuts, rice fields and kind people. A good place for some one who really needs to spent his vacation silently. People of this village have malayalam as their mother tongue but they speak both malayalam and English languages fluently.
 
How to reach:
One can reach that small village either by train or by bus. Buses are available from Trikaripur,Payyannurl and Kanhangad as well, stop at 'Karolam palli' from which you can have a small walk to reach the village. Valvakkad is the near by Payyannur and Trikaripur railway station where you get autos or taxis to reach the village. Most of the trains stop at Payyannur.

About the village:
Most of the people were well educated and were residing in different parts of the world and some have their own business. There are about 500 houses in the villlage. A Mosque Named Valvakkad Juma Masjid which is built about some hundreds of years back is the only one shrine which provides safety and success to the people.It re builded before 4O Years.The most noticed in present is that Valvakkad Juma masjid and Kannamangalam Temple staying toucinghly. Apart from that, the village is known for its coconut trees, mango trees and paddy fields. The harvest is done twice in a year. Also the village is blessed with plenty of water even during the hot season.


Near by places to visit:
The village is situated very near to the seashore, almost 5 kilometers from the near by sea called Kannuveed. About 1 kilometers from the village is the Ramavilliam  temple which is situated in Karolam. 8 kilometers from the village is a town called Payyannurl where you get all transport to all places in Kerala as well as near by states like karnataka, Bangalore. About 18 kilometers from the village is the world famous place called Ezhimala located.Worlds Biggest naval academy is located there. Also some other near by places are Valiya paramba Back water,Edayilakkadu Forest Two famous Mosque's at Beerichery and Mettammal . The International airport is just 105 kilometers from the village, Mangalore International Airport, Karnataka.
